Overview
The reserve stretches to approximately 15000 acres and contains a protected forest and diverse wildlife.
There are giraffes, rhinos, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, antelopes, birds, monkeys and other wildlife.
A separate part of the reserve has lions where one can walk with the lions.
The trip starts with picking you up at your hotel or meeting you on the other side of the river, Barra.
The journey will take you to the border town of Karang where you will need your passports and if possible your yellow fever certificates.
Then you will proceed to the Reserve. From Barra to the reserve expect the journey to take approximately 1 hour including the stop for immigration.
The Reserve is a short drive to our lodge so if guests would like to combine this with a stay to include other sites of interest on the North Bank this can be made possible.
The best time to travel is early morning.

overview
This is a well known excursion for those staying in Gambia and the reserve stretches to approximately 15000 acres and contains a protected forest and diverse wildlife. You will likely spot giraffes, rhinos, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest and even can walk with lions. You will need to bring a water bottle with you and some comfortable clothes. Travel will start when you are picked up from your hotel by Barry’s Tours in a comfortable car and you will experience a ferry trip across the water to Barra from Banjul. A stop in Barra to pick up drinks and snacks before continuing to Fathala will be provided and the drive is then an hour and a half. If you wish to extend your outing with a night in our lodge under the stars in Ndungu Kebbe this is an option that you can choose.
